Azerbaijan Migration Service made 1,585 decisions in February

March 14, Fineko/abc.az. In February, the State Migration Service of Azerbaijan made 1,585 decisions in the field of migration in Azerbaijan, including on the occasion of violation of administrative legislation requirements.

The SMS reports that last month 712 people were expelled from Azerbaijan.

"In connection with violation of relevant articles of the Administrative Offences Code, 900 decisions were made on the application of administrative sanctions, including 712 ones on expulsion from the country and 188 ones on legalizing their stay in the country.

495 out of 643 decisions were related to the application of administrative fines and restriction of entry into the country, 148 to violation of the requirements of the articles of the Migration Code, and 10 decisions concerned the change of documents on temporary and permanent residence," the Service said.

In general, the SMS received 6,421 applications from foreigners and stateless persons in connection with the extension of temporary stay in our country, obtaining a permit for temporary or permanent residence, obtaining and restoring citizenship, determining refugee status, as well as obtaining a work permit. Each of the received appeals has been studied individually and relevant decisions have been made.

For the past month the Migration Service’s hotline received 8,152 calls.
