February 28, Fineko/abc.az. The steady growth of social benefits has also affected targeted social assistance.

ABC.AZ reports that the criterion of need for calculating targeted assistance has been increased from 170 up to 200 manats since the beginning of this year.

This growth is also conditioned with an increase in targeted assistance provided to families that include up to 250,000 people. Additional AZN 20 million a year will be spent on this growth.

The new stage of social reform, based on the instructions of the head of state, also envisages the new measures to support the participants of the war.

These measures include providing lump-sum payment to the disabled of the Karabakh war who were wounded in 1991-1997, and the appointment of monthly presidential scholarship to servicemen who participated in the fighting for the territorial integrity of our country in the period from 27 September to 10 November 2020, with the assignment of the title “War Veteran”.

As a whole, the package of reforms, which provides for an increase in wages, pensions and other social benefits by 2022, covers 3.4 million people. The annual additional finances allocated for these increments amount to AZN 2.1 bn.
