June 24, Fineko/abc.az. In the period from 1 January to 1 May 2020 the number of people working under an official employment contract increased by 30,700 people in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that growth was recorded in the private sector – 18,600 people and in the public sector – 12,100 people.

Reduction of employees by 10 people and a rise by 7 persons were observed on 19 spheres of economic activity in the public sector, while the number of employees in two spheres remained the same.

The largest declines in the number of employees in the public sector occurred in mining (1.5%), healthcare (1.2%), agriculture (2.6%) and energy (3.7%), water supply (3.3%) and other spheres (5%). In administrative and support services,the number of employees grew by 31%, in tourism by 11.1%, in financial and insurance activities by 5.8%.
