January 21, Fineko/abc.az. Along with Azerbaijani citizens, 5,700 students from 84 foreign countries are studying in higher educational institutions of the country.

ABC.AZ was informed at the State Statistics Committee that foreign students are mostly citizens of Turkey, Iran, Georgia, Russia, Turkmenistan, Nigeria, and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Since the beginning of the 2020/2021 academic year, the number of students studying in foreign countries on the state line has amounted to 975 people.

37.5% of young people studying abroad are graduates of Baku schools, 62.5% are graduates of schools in various districts of Azerbaijan.

Most students are studying at universities in Hungary, Turkey, Russia, China, Latvia, and the UK.
