Quantity of Israeli tourists arriving in Azerbaijan grows

February 11, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan's tourism opportunities have been presented at the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM 2020) Exhibition in Tel Aviv.

ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijan participated in the exhibition with the assistance of the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau.

According to the Agency, Azerbaijan is represented at the exhibition by four hotels, three tour operators and the Museum of Mountain Jews on the 80 sq m stand.

Bahruz Askerov, deputy director general of the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, pointed out that over the past few years Israel has been particularly distinguished among countries that show interest in Azerbaijan in the field of tourism. Stressing the importance of the Israeli market for Azerbaijan, he noted the increase in the number of Israeli tourists compared with the previous years and the preparation of new tourist products to increase further the interest to Azerbaijan.

In 2019 the number of Israeli citizens who visited Azerbaijan amounted to 47,000 people (rise of 66.8% against 2018). This January 1,722 Israeli citizens visited Azerbaijan that makes up a 158% increase versus January 2019.
